meet Louise White
a personal approach to chiropractic care, built on experience, careful assessment and a genuine interest in helping people.
Hello, I’m Louise.
I’ve been practising human chiropractic since qualifying in 2002. I run my own clinic at Musbury House Studio near Axmouth and Seaton, where I help people with a range of back, neck, joint and muscle problems.
What matters to me is understanding the person in front of me. I want to know how your problem is affecting you, what you’ve already tried and what you’d like to be able to do more comfortably.
I take time to examine you carefully, explain what I find and discuss whether chiropractic treatment is appropriate. I want you to feel informed and comfortable with the decisions we make together.
why I became a chiropractor
My decision to train as a chiropractor was quite personal: chiropractic had helped me, and I wanted to do something that I felt could make a practical difference to other people’s lives.
I spent just over four years studying at the McTimoney Chiropractic College in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, qualifying in human chiropractic in 2002.
Since then, my clinical experience has shaped the way I work. I believe in listening properly, looking beyond the obvious and explaining things in a way that makes sense without overwhelming people with technical language.
my approach to treatment
I don’t believe that one technique or treatment plan suits everybody.
I use the McTimoney technique alongside other specific chiropractic techniques where appropriate. My approach is guided by your history, examination findings, preferences and individual circumstances.
I aim to use gentle, considered treatment where suitable, and I will always explain the proposed approach and obtain your consent before treating you. I also believe that good care involves helping you understand your body and giving you practical advice that may support your movement and day-to-day activities.
from human chiropractic to working with animals
Animals have always been another great interest of mine, so completing further training in veterinary chiropractic was a natural extension of my work.
I undertook postgraduate training with the International Academy of Veterinary Chiropractic, including training in the UK and Germany. This gave me the opportunity to extend my chiropractic work to animals alongside my established work with people.
My work with animals has further developed my interest in careful observation and palpation. I find it rewarding to bring my two interests together, while recognising that treating an animal requires its own appropriate assessment and professional considerations.
a calm setting for your appointment
My clinic is based at Musbury House Studio, in a rural setting near Axmouth and Seaton. I aim to provide a welcoming, unhurried environment where you can talk openly about your concerns and feel comfortable asking questions.
thinking about making an appointment
If you have a problem you’d like to discuss, or you’re unsure whether chiropractic care may be suitable for you, please get in touch. I’ll be happy to talk through your concerns, answer any questions and explain what to expect at your first appointment.
I’d be happy to hear from you.
